On March 6, FemSMed's doctoral fellow Nil Abend delivered an invited lecture on "Enslavement and Transgressive Violence in Early Modern Spain" at the International Seminar "Transgression: Justification, Critique, and Negotiation of Extreme Violence," hosted by the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Seville, Spain. FemSMed's PI, Prof. Tamar Herzig, also presented an invited lecture in the seminar, on "Gender, Enslavement, and Transgressive Violence in Mediterranean Catholic Europe in the Seventeenth Century."
