Four publications by FemSMed members serve as the starting point for discussion in the historiographic sections dealing with human trafficking and slave perspectives in early modern Livorno, on the webpages dedicated to these two topics on the Decima: Livorno 3D website. The section on human trafficking in Livorno, by Rio Harada, discusses five major relevant publications, including Benedetta Chizzolini's article "Navigating Ambiguities: Fluid Identities and Legal Nuances among Galley Rowers" and Tamar Herzig's article "Corsairing and Enslavement in Grand Ducal Tuscany”. The section on tolerance and slave perspectives in early modern Livorno, by Sayuri Sepulveda and Kareem El Ayoubi, feature the publications of three scholars, including Tamar Herzig—for her articles: "Enslavement, Religion, and Cultural Commemoration in Livorno" and "Slavery and Interethnic Sexual Violence: A Multiple Perpetrator Rape in Seventeenth-Century Livorno")—and Benedetta Chizzolini, for her article  “Enslavement and Female Agency in Early Modern Livorno.”
